ABOUT THIS COMMITTEE
From 1808-1836, every Spanish American colony became independent except Cuba and Puerto Rico. These revolutions came in many forms, but all were led by a charismatic and dynamic cast of politicians, lawyers, and military leaders. Opposing them was the aging but still very much alive Spanish Empire, made up of powerful and well-entrenched royal and vice-royal authorities. Delegates in this committee will represent an individual historical character and work to secure their ambitions, either independence or a return to imperial glory.
