Head Chair

Head Chairs are responsible for moderating each committee, keeping track of time, ruling on points and motions, and ensuring parliamentary procedure is followed at all times. Prior MUN experience is recommended for this role.

 

Crisis Director

Crisis Directors lead the crisis room staff and oversee the development of committee arcs. They shape the content of each committee, bringing their creativity and ideas into dynamic discussions that make the conference engaging and exciting. MUN and Crisis experience are recommended for this role.

 

Deputy Chair

Deputy Chairs are key members of the dais, supporting the Chairs in managing debate and handling procedural tasks. They may also take on the role of Chair during sessions at the Chair’s discretion. No prior MUN experience is necessary, making this a great opportunity for first-time staff members!

 

Associate Crisis Director

Associate Crisis Directors assist the Crisis Director in managing the crisis room and collaborate with crisis staffers on individual arcs and responding to crisis notes. MUN experience is not required and is a great role for creative and ambitious minds!


Thanks for considering joining our Senior Staff team! While our positions are not highly time-consuming, you will be responsible for attending meetings and training sessions, completing background guides and other tasks. We promise the experience will be full of fun, growth, and unforgettable memories!

To help you stay on track, your assigned Under Secretary-General will communicate deadlines and expectations. Approval to perform a Senior Staff role at the conference will be granted upon completing these requirements. Plus, as a token of our appreciation, we have prepared some exciting incentives to recognize our staff's hard work and dedication.

GENERAL STAFFING

As UNC's annual MUN conference, we work hard to provide a weekend of lively debate and fun for top performing collegiate teams from both domestic and international settings. Hundreds of delegates represent countries, characters, and organizations as they get involved in passionate and intense discussions. Yet, however important the delegates are, the staffers are what makes the UNCMUNC magic happen!

This application is for any current UNC student seeking to apply as a staffer for UNCMUNC XV. It is not required to have prior experience in Model UN. Are you a first-timer? Don't worry! Our phenomenal team is here to walk you through each step and provide you with the training and resources you need to become a valuable staffer. Several staffers go on to take up leadership roles in future UNCMUNC conferences or try out for our beloved MUN travel team!
