UNCMUNC XV Awards Policy

The primary goal of UNCMUNC XV is to provide an inclusive and uplifting educational experience for all of its delegates, regardless of who wins an award UNCMUNC XV emphasizes the importance of meaningful collaboration and diplomacy. With this value in consideration, delegates are chosen for awards based on exceptional performance in the following three categories:

  1. Contributions. Contributions to the committee include both verbal and written content. Exceptional contributions are grounded in thorough research and display a nuanced understanding of committee topics, committee goals, and relevant United Nations functions. These contributions shape the direction of the committee, guiding other delegates to engage in deeper investigations and pursue new topics and partnerships. Successful contributions will be featured prominently in committee developments, solutions, directives, and resolutions.

  1. Collaboration. Exceptional delegates guide their contributions to build consensus around committee objectives. They pursue diverse partnerships and facilitate critical communication between different actors and blocs. Most importantly, they display a supportive and constructive attitude toward others, constantly seeking to improve and incorporate others’ ideas. They display strong listening skills and build upon the contributions of others.

  1. Leadership. Exceptional delegates unify their contributions and collaborations to shape the course of the committee. They pioneer solutions that draw from diverse perspectives, striving especially to incorporate less vocal delegates. They constantly push the committee forward and inspire delegates to engage and contribute. Through all this they seek to unify, not divide— include, not exclude. They are respected by their peers.
