ABOUT THIS COMMITTEE
Singapore 1960 is vying for full self-governance amid decaying British colonial occupation. New political parties are forming, government bodies are being restructured, and foreign investors are grappling for influence over this fledgling nation. The Political Action Party draws on support from labor unions and communist-adjacent Chinese nationals, who hold the bulk of the seats in the Legislative Assembly. On top of all of this, there is a growing call among top leaders of the PAP for a merger between Singapore and its larger resource-rich neighbor, the anti-communist Malaya. Political and economic elites from all over the world will lie, cheat, steal, and use their get-out-of-jail-free cards to impose their designs upon the nascent Singaporean nation. Will Singapore achieve true independence from the British? Will it forge a path of its own as an international economic powerhouse? A game of Singaporean MUNopoly will decide. Will Singapore even pass GO! and collect 200 dollars? It’s up to the delegates…
