As the #1 Model UN conference in North Carolina, UNCMUNC provides an unparalleled opportunity for students to engage in global issues, diplomacy, and collaboration. This year’s iteration will be held under the theme “A Call for Action in Uncertain Times”, launching a new, groundbreaking initiative, the EarthMUNC Project, to foster volunteerism and social actions among the delegates. This initiative will focus on connecting cultures through farming and food with Transplanting Traditions, a local community farm in Chapel Hill, NC.

Transplanting Traditions

This organization focuses on uplifting food sovereignty in refugee communities through access to land, education, and opportunities for refugee farmers to address community food insecurity. The farm provides a cultural community space for all with a love for sustainable development and a wish for building healthy neighborhoods.

For Future Leaders

Through this year’s newest EARTHMUNC project, we hope to create sustainable relationships with both the environment and local communities. We hope that the future leaders coming to compete at UNCMUNC XIV this year will be able to connect with this inspiring organization. Through this unique experience, we wish to encourage a culture of volunteering and fundraising among all attendees.
